Orange trees have been cultivated in Sóller for 600 years! The fruit was brought to Mallorca by Moorish sea-farers and the area was converted into the most sumptuous orange groves of the whole Island. The water-rich Tramuntana and the Mediterranean sun have ensured that today more than 120,000 orange trees are grown in and around Sóller. The juiciest and most aromatic oranges are still to be found here.
